Hi sorry i must be a right biff.

I am trying to put my dvd's on my hard drive so I can watch them from it when I'm deployed,

I've tried all the free online downloads I can find to rip the dvd's that seems to work okay but they won't play.

I've tried mac the ripper and VLC player and just using the DVD player but again won't seem to play.

I'm happy to pay for software now but I have no idea what soft to buy!
I'm totally new to mac's so any help would be great thank you.

You started another thread asking pretty much the same thing a while ago. I explained how to open the movie folders using VLC Player. Did you follow the instructions?

i use RipIt, it now does both a DVD rip to the Hard Drive that iDVDPlayer can read, and compress it to other Apple Formats.

Very Very easy to use.
