HUGE 17GB file named "diskutil" in home folder - no clue what it does

OKAY, so I found this today in my home folder - it's a 17 GB file from several months ago named diskutil, and I don't remember how it got there, I'm not sure if it's important, and I couldn't find anything on the web from a google search of anyone having a similar situation to this. Does anyone know what this is and if it's safe to delete? I'm pretty pressed for hard drive space and would like to delete it, but not if it contains important data.

This is a deleted user.
The 17GB is some user you created, but dont need anymore.
Just delete it.
