How to not save passwords/emails for IMAP account

With my work I connect to a webmail system over a VPN for security reasons. The mail service has IMAP capabilities but its a deal breaker to configure it on my mac (mac mail) if it is going to store emails and passwords on the system.

So is there a way to set an IMAP account (mac mail) to only view email when it is online and absolutely do not store emails on the computer that can be read offline... plus can you set an account to not save the password so you have to put a password in each time to access to the account?
