How to get the Left Side bar back (Mojave)

Hi you guys... Can you tell me how to reinstate the Left side bar to my menue (Mojave)? It has Fovorites Locations etc... see screen shot.

Hello,

Open a Finder window and in the menu bar, click View then Show Sidebar.

Let us know if that fixes it.

I tried Cory's solution (using 10.13.6 ) but all but two of the options in the view menu, including Show Sidebar are greyed out. can anyone give me a clue as to why this might be ...? ~ Thanks !

With a finder window open press Option + Command + S

I see that is the shortcut for 'Show sidebar' but it does nothing when 'Show Sidebar' is greyed out in the View menu.
