How do you get your printer online

Hi...I'm new to this forum and I just purchased a Canon MG5320 printer and when I got to the test print, I kept getting a message that my printer was off line. I'm not computer savvy, but if someone could tell me how to get my printer on line, I'd appreciate it. I have an OS X 10.6 Help!

I'd start by deleting and re-installing the Printer, you didn't use the Drivers from the disk that came with it did you?
