How do I change pdf attachment to an icon?

When I attach a pdf to a new email message it displays in its entirety in the message. Can I change some setting to just attach as an icon at the bottom?

Try right-clicking the pdf in the email message and select 'view as icon'

This setting does not travel with the Mail, it will behave the way the receiver has their Mail App set.

hey kaveman, where is the setting to receive attachments as icon/in place, I can't find it ... that's not sayin' much though hehehe

There not Mail wide setting that I know of, just right click and View Icon, or View In Place. Mail seems to have a mind of its own as to if it will display as Icon or in place, I think it has to do with size and the file type. The bigger they are the more like it is to display as Icon.
