I am trying to download the driver for my Canon MG 2420 printer on my Mac (OS 10.6.8) & it asks for Host name or IP address. How do I find these?

Hello,

It shouldn't ask for your hostname or IP address to simply download the installer. Are you downloading it from here: Canon PIXMA MG2420

This is a replacement for an Canon printer that died. I merely dragged the old printer folder to the trash. I fear that some thing from the old printer may still be hidden in my machine. How can I remove it?

You really don't need to remove every piece of software for the old printer. You can simply delete the old printer in System Preferences... > Printers & Scanners > click on the old printer in the list > click the (-) minus button > click Delete Printer. You can then install/setup the new printer.

I followed your instructions. In setup: it says Printer que cannot be found. when I press OK, it repeats. When i press Register printer (It is registered), I asks for Host name or IP address.
