Help with ZOOM ZTE AC682 internet modem

I am currently living in Bangladesh with the only internet available in the form of a Zoom ZTE AC682 modem. I have a Macbook with Snow Leopard. It worked fine for a couple of weeks until I started encountering kernel errors. I restarted pressing down x and restarted pressing option and that helped for another couple of weeks. Now it keeps popping up with the error "no phone service detected...." I have run out of ideas! Can anyone shed some light?
