Help with organizing in Photos

is it possible to delete pix in the imports tab in photos?
I don't want all these pix but I highlight them but cannot move them to trash or delete.
What do I do?

I have Photos v3 on MacBook pro 10.13.2
Pix have been imported from camera and sd card. They show up in import and photos sections. I can not delete imported photos. I can delete them from the photo section but not import section... What do I do to rid myself of these old pix?
