Help with my new pac - swiping off a web page

Hi, I am new to this forum. I have a new mac and a mouse pad, every so often my mouse seems to be actively swiping away from a webpage, but i am not sure why or how it is happening or how to prevent it, or rectify it once it happens!!...Any help much appreciated...it is very frustrating when writing an email and i m losing the content!

What Mac model do you have? If MBP or Air do you mean the multi touch trackpad. As this is very sensitive and you may just be touching it while typing.

Hi, its a Mac osx 10.8.5. Its not a track pad but a mouse?

the screen looks like its swiping to a new screen, but nothing comes up and i cant restore or reload the page, without losing my work, but i am not activley activating the mouse to move or change screen, it may be that im doing something im unaware of when im 'holding' the mouse

Hi leeanne,

First thing I would do is double check system preferences > mouse. And see how you have it set up and what actions correspond to what fingers.
Have a look here at setting it up re gestures.

It's the 2 finger swipe, it's great I use it all the time.
