Help with Entourage 2008 - Please help me - BIG HUGS!

Hi guys! I switched identities today to look at some really old emails that I needed and when I went to switch back to my current emails I couldn't find them. I'm guessing this is because I hadn't backed them up (I feel so stupid) and I'm wondering if they're gone forever. I've tried compacting the database which, did nothing and I stumbled upon a file in my documents folder that says "old database" but I can't open it or import it into entourage even though it appears to be an entourage file. I click on it but nothing happens.

Am I screwed?

Not sure if this is relevant but if you use the 'Switch Identity' command is your old identity still listed?

You can try to find your old database, search for Microsoft User Data or Office 2008 Identities.
