Help with document/paper organizing

New to mac. Need to find an app (rather than sticky notes or idocuments or an idojournal)... I want all my little notes and random pieces of paper lying around to be organised with an app, or with some sort of.. program that i am sure exists out there. can anyone please refer me to something that will help me organize stuff?
