Help needed for Drivers problem

I have a Macbook Pro running Mavericks and recently purchased a USB to Serial Adaptor to enable me to update my software on my Naim Uniti streamer.

I have downloaded the required drivers and gone through the installation process successfully and the computer automatically rebooted itself.

But when I start the Naim updater software it does not show the drivers in the menu nor in the system report>hardware>usb window.

I have been in touch with Naim and they say its a problem with my Mac - any suggestions for solving this problem would be appreciated please.

I find it strange that the drivers software downloads successfully but then when it reboots nothings there..
