HELP! Mac OS X Tiger version 10.4.8 BIG problem.

It wont run firefox, word, excel, or powerpoint. Nor will it run the disk that came with the printer i just bought. When i click one of those applications in the dock, it bounces once and then just doesnt do anything. When i put the disk with the printer application on it in the drive, and i click on the program icon to install it, it shows up for a split second in the dock, and then disappears and it wont run. it does the same thing when i try to open firefox..=P.

i dont know what to do. i need the printer!!

Have you tried repairing permissions at all?

If you have done anything to try and resolve this problem, please let us know because it can save time in helping you to sort it out

didnt work.

what i DID do, was back up my files to an external hard drive, and i reinstalled Mac OS X.

It seems to have worked, but now all of the programs that i had before are missing, like word, excel, etc. =P.
