HELP! How do you remove Quicklook UI Service on desktop

Hi,
I have these transparent squares that are on my desktop and I have no idea how to get rid of them... See screenshot below. Anyone know what this is and how to remove? When I click on them it says "Quicklook UIservice" but doesn't do anything. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I'm running High Sierra 10.13.6. Shutting down works but then it eventually reappears. Curious if there is a complete fix or if I have to keep restarting each time. Thanks.

I wonder if there may be something wrong with the spacebar on your keyboard. That is one way to invoke QuickLook, and if it is sticking/failing, it could be in a processing loop causing the issue.

What model Mac?
