help gmail to mac mail

i need help, problem is today i wanted to format my mac so i can start fresh again and everything went well but then once i finished i went to add my gmail into my mac mail which worked fine before the reinstall.
But now i can not see any of my mails even tho i have pop.mail all set up correctly.
i then went to send a mail from my mac mail it managed to sent it and i even managed to check the test mail i sent to my self on the gmail web browser. pls can some one help me to show my gmail emails in mac mail again thanks

Re-verify you Gmail settings on the web. See if you have POP enabled. Then re-check your Mail settings to make sure you have that account set to be checked and messages downloaded. Here are the instructions from Gmail:
