I have no idea what to do.

Booting from the superdrive with sn wont allow me to erase/wipe disk.

Disk utility won't allow me to erase.

Don't know what to do.

Also what problems/solution are there for restoring from time machine?

Man I could spit nails.

What Mac, MacBook Air? did yours come with a SN flash drive?

May need a trip to an Apple Service Centre near you.

I made a mistake: SN=SL Snow Leopard

I have a MacBook that came with Snow Leopard.
I purchased the Lion upgrade in July.

This macbook has been plagued with hardware problems in its 2 years. I think I have them resolved... finally, but the software is now an issue.

you'll need to get it to another Mac, start it up in Target Mode and see if you can reformat from there if not, then there is a problem with the HD.

The hard drive was tested on in the apple store on Friday and is fine. The superdrive was replaced that day. Lion takes over a computer harddrive like an octopus with the grip of a python. That is the root of this problem.

Any ideas how to break the partition that holds the lion backup restore?

If the DVDs don't work and you can't access it via Target Mode,

then you'll have to take it to an Apple Service Centre near you.
