Gray Screen

Hello, my son has a Apple Power Macintosh G4 1.25 DP (FW 800) running 10.5.
He was working with iTunes and the mac froze up. So he shut it off and tried to restart and all he gets is a "gray screen" can someone please help this mac is new to him but used in great shape with new install of OS 10.5 -Thanks Stephen

I have rebooted from OS 10.4 CD and I start to go through like I was reinstalling the OS and it freezes up every time. Does this mean hardware problems? Thanks Stephen

G4 - Startup problems just about impossible to debug remotely.

Firstly, Start it up in Target mode and go in via another Mac and get a backup!!!

This is one of the few places that you could try an Install in Place.

Take it to a Apple Service Centre, it doesn't have to be Apple there will be one near you. There is all manner of tricks they have to try and resurrect it, but is it worth the expense?

To be honest the G4 is way past EOL, look at the MacMinis.
