Gray border around screen- please help me

Randomly my computer has not been starting up promptly when I open it. The machine is only about 18 months old- iBook Pro- and this morning after finally starting I have this cloud like gray border about an inch wide around the entire display. I have restarted it twice, shut it down, done a deep virus scan and followed the command+toolbar+escape method that I found on this forum and it still remains-

Any ideas before I have to stop everything and go the Apple Store?
