GIMP doesn't see external drives.

I have a Mac Mini M4 running macOS 15.2. I can see external drives in Finder but not when using GIMP. Although I have a 10 year old iMac, I have never become familiar with it and tended to use my Windows devices. With the purchase of the new Mac Mini, I plan to have only the macOS environment . (My windows laptops have already given way to iPADs.)

My configuration has a flash drive directly connected to the Mac plus two HDD connected via a USB hub. While Finder can see and use all of these devices, GIMP only sees the internal storage. How do I correct this?

UPDATE

I have found that I can drag an image from an external storage device into GIMP using Finder. Also GIMP will save that image back to the external device.

But I still can't access external storage directly from GIMP.

Have you tried 'File' > 'Open' > '/' > 'Volumes' to show your drives?
