GIF files into a movie?

is there a way i can convert an animated .gif into a type of video file? Or can i make a movie in iMovie with the frames from preview ?:confused:

Save each frame to a Folder.
Use QuickTime to open the File Sequence
Save As Movie
Edit in iMove
