I just got a message from my campus IT department asking all e-mail users to set their IMAP clients to check every 0 minutes to reduce the frequency with which the e-mail database needs to be loaded into RAM. (i.e. to maintain a continual connection to the server) It also requires that I set a maximum number of server connections to 2.
It says that MacMail can't do this, and that I must switch to Mozilla. But, well, I don't like Mozilla. Is there any way to force MacMail to do continual IMAP connections and to cap server connections? Perhaps a handy freeware extension somewhere?
