G4 QuickSilver blinking folder icon/not recognizing hard drives

Hello,

I am using a PowerMac G4 Quicksilver with OSX Tiger. I turned on my computer to the blinking folder icon. Tried the remedies on apple.com. I really can't do anything because the hard disks are not being recognized. Please help!! I did nothing out of the ordinary for this to happen! Could this be a battery problem??

Hi Raedaco,

Have you tried running the Apple Hardware CD?

If the hard drive is not being recognised, it sounds very much like your hard drive has gone.
