G-mail password help! My I-Phone 3 will not accept the new one.

I tried deleting G-Mail and adding it back. I tried getting another password. I seem to recall an automatically generated password for Iphone...can anyone help me with this? thanks

I seem to recall an automatically generated password for Iphone

I might be missing something here, but as far as I am aware all personal settings can only be changed via the settings menu from within your online gmail account.
Have never heard of an automatically generated password for iPhone or any device, unless you have forgotten yours and requested an email with one so you can log in and change. Forgotten password box usually under the login box.
