Full screen keeps side swiping away

Hi there,
I just got a new macbook pro - my macbook air is still operational - gave it to my teenager to use.
But now both machines are doing the same thing - when we enter fullscreen - the screen keeps disappearing away and I have to toggle to find it again.
Would appreciate any help!

I wonder if you are swiping with three fingers on the trackpad - that swipes between full screen app windows.

That sounds plausible Cory, I do this all the time with my clumsy fingers on my magic mouse

Thanks but no, I would be aware if I had even one finger swiping - and definitely three.
The track pad is not being touched at all.
Eg Christmas day - we put a movie on youtube, plugged in our projector - and no one was near the laptop.
Couldn't continue to watch - as entire screen kept swiping off to the left, and then resuming - but happened every 20 seconds so was unwatchable.
Happens only on Chrome and only on full screen. on both our Apple laptops
