Formatting Mac

I went to disc utility to format my Mac and somehow messed it up to where it won’t start now except from the disc utility. When I go back to the disc utility all I see is APPLE SSD SM0512L Media and OS X Base System. I’ve already ran First Aid on both. What do I need to do to fix this?

What’s the exact make/model of the Mac? How much RAM and storage size?

If you formatted the internal drive then you need to reinstall macOS. You should be able to do this from the Recovery partition.
