forgot my username/password after new mac setup

hi,
i just bought a new imac - and after the setup was completed i had forgotten my username/password (had to enter too many). how can i recover the imac? thanks for expert help. thomas

If you have the original installation disk, you can boot your Mac from that. Once it starts, you can then reset your password. Please take a look at this Apple article with instructions on how to reset/change your password: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106156
