I'm a novice at MACs and am transferring files from a PC, but cannot find the thumb drive plugged into the MAC. Help?

The Mac has USB ports in the lower right at the back. If the keyboard is an older wired model there are also 2 ports there too. If it has an external monitor they could be in the bottom right of that.

Apologies. My query was not clear. I have plugged the thumb drive into the back of the Mac, in one of the USB ports, but cannot find the drive on my desktop or in any program. The PC has a "My computer" function and a Windows Explorer directory for locating, opening or moving files. It's like my Mac doesn't recognize the little auxiliary drive, but I'm not getting an error message, or any message at all.

Go to Finder ~> Preferences ~> General Tab, and tick to show these items on the Desktop: External Discs, and any other options you like.

Thank you so much. The thumb drive did eventually show up, and I also was able to find it it through Finder. Much appreciated!:)
