Hi all, we have a small A/V studio here in Nepal and we finally scraped enough rupees together to import our first mac, a MBP and we have imacs on order. I am so so relieved...the pcs we have been using are junk compared to mac construction and the osx is so incredibly simple it was almost confusing at first after so many years struggling with XP. I did notice 1 thing, I had to use apple script to create an automount application to mount XP shares on the server, and that seemed a bit odd. But man that's a nit considering i spent last night re-installing XP for the umptenth time on our protools box.

I really only had three questions for now:

1) Has anyone tried getting sonicstage to work on parallels desktop? The SO has one of those sony sticks and really likes it (I however, would like to step on it with a heavy boot). I have been taking playlists out of the itunes and putting them into sonic stage library just to get music on the stupid little thing, but now???

2) Has anyone with a MBP 2gig every used parallels desktop to run a serious app in virtual mode, something like Photoshop CS3? We unfortunately only have the Adobe master suite in Windows, and the only license our dealer had for PS was V7. I also need to run at the same time PowerPoint Office 2007 for some tut work I am doing. Do I just bump up the allowed ram to something reasonable like 1.5 gig, but what will happen on the OSx side when I do that?

3) Carbon Copy Cloner came installed but I have not made heads or tails of that yet. I am used to Acronis True Image and just want a bit for bit backup with incremental. Is Carbon Copy gunna do just that? Also, is there an equal to system restore in XP, not that THAT EVER WORKED! It seems a good idea however....

Well, thanks all...see ya around the board now that we are finally doing the transition...:)
