SOLVED Finding Duplicate files in

Hi all

I’m looking for recommendations of software that would let me search for and identify duplicate files - text, audio/images on my MacBook Pro. I am interested in duplicates within the same folder and in differing folders.

I’d be ever so grateful for any information that you might share with me.

Recovering my hard drive resulted in many a duplicate file.

Just a word of caution though... before using any software that automates deleting files, make sure that you have a solid backup 1st.

To find and remove duplicate files on your MacBook Pro, I recommend checking out Gemini 2 or Duplicate Cleaner For iPhoto. Gemini 2 is great for scanning both within the same folder and across different folders, and it's pretty user-friendly. It works well with text files, images, and audio files. Another good option is DupeGuru, which is free and supports multiple file types. Either of these should help you clean up those duplicates and free up some space on your hard drive.
