Finder problems - can't cut and paste

I have problems with Finder to cut and past documents in it. This happens on my MacBook Pro and iMac - both version OS X 10.8.4. - how can I solve this?

Hi,

If you hold down the command key while dragging does this not work, as this should cut rather than copy.

Command+ c to copy
Command+ v to past

Copy the image / file or whatever first command + C,
Now move the item where you want with Alt + Cmd + V.

That should work, also I do not believe there is cut and paste by default in Finder.

Ok thanks - this is what we already do - is there by chance an alternative program, like Finder, for Mac and for free?
