Finder operation gets stuck.

Tried to reboot—The Finder can’t quit because an operation is still in progress on an iOS device.—Try again after the operation is complete.—iPhone is spinning, but it is just sitting on my desk not plugged into anything. Force quit Finder, and it restarted, still spinning. Other times when this has happened, the phone was plugged into my iMac. Had to push the off button on my iMac.

Any idea what I need to do?

I don't have an iPhone, and most of the time, my Samsung Note 10 is not near my Mac Mini. But I have never had this happen.

What happens if you turn your iPhone off? Also, do you have the latest version of iOS, iOS 14.2.1?

My old phone doesn't want to upgrade past 14.2. Maybe that is only an iPhone 12 upgrade. I think I did turn off my phone once when this happened. It's only happened 4 times in maybe a month.

Hi,

iOS 14.2 is the latest official release. iOS 14.2.1 is only for the iPhone 12 models.

Maybe just power off your Mac, then power off your iPhone.

When this happens, I can't shut down my Mac without powering it down. Next time it happens, I'll try shutting down my phone then force-quitting my finder and see what happens.
