Finder freezing & slow (finder on guest works)

Hi could someone please help me I have a college deadline next week and my Mac is acting up!

When I try to use the finder it works for a few seconds then freezes. There is no loading icon, its just frozen. I tried force quitting it but it keeps happening. Strangely when I go onto guest the finder on that works fine.

Any help would be much appreciated!!

I deleted your duplicate post of this in the Mac Applications section of this forum.

A few questions to help us troubleshoot:
-Which model Mac?
-Which version of OS X?
-Do you have any antivirus or third-party apps like MacKeeper or CleanMyMac installed?
-Did you install any software recently around the time this issue started?
