SOLVED Finder - column width

Previously, in Finder, when I selected Column View (to have several columns side by side) I could change the width of the columns to accommodate long file or folder names. Now (just in the last few days) the columns seem to be a fixed width with a thick vertical bar between them that allows me to drag up and down to more entries in the same column.

How do I change the column width to allow for long file or folder names?

Solved it - there is a faint "handle" at the bottom of the dividing bar that allows me to drag the column wider.
