find all my pics + delete extra pic copies

I have OS X desktop. I need to find all my pictures then delete extra copies so I can save them to disc. It says i have over 10,000 pics I'm not sure if that is just single copies or extras the computer makes and maybe ones iI have taken off the web. I would like everything in order of date received that way I know which disc to look at in the future. I am not real great at the computer but now need to clean and organize it for an upcoming business. Thank you so much for your time.
