fax/printer/copier combo settings on mac

I am about to freak out because I have only used PC's in the past, and have never used a Mac before. I am trying to figure out if I can have my Mac recognize whether I am receiving a phone call or a fax. I have a combo mentioned above connected to my Mac, but we only have one phone line designated for the phone and fax use. Is there a way to set it up to recognize if a fax is coming in or a phone call?
