Well, this isn't just Sonoma, but this is where most people seem to be. I am somewhat stunned that if you Facetime to a Mac that is sleeping, the Mac will wake up long enough to allow you to accept the call, and then, boom, it goes dark and hangs up. Not sure what Apple was thinking when they designed that. If you were trying to Facetime to a Mac that was sleeping, you might expect it to just refuse to connect at all, if not wake the system up entirely.

Well, that's not the issue. The issue is that why, when sleeping, does it wake up long enough to accept the call, and then immediately hang up and go back to sleep. That is, why allow the call to be accepted if you're going to hang up on it.

PowerNap is a feature that while sleeping allows your Mac to check for incoming mail, messages, etc. Unless you take your Mac out of sleep before you answer the FaceTime call this is "Normal" behavior. By disabling PowerNap your Mac should only alert you of an incoming call when it is awake.
