Face ID stopped working after update to 17.5 IOS

After updating my iphone with the latest IOS - the Face ID has stopped working, so I thought I would reset my Face ID - but the phone/camera just will not register my face in the box to get a reading - it keeps saying move higher or move lower or your face cannot be registered - this is really annoying and now I have to use my pass code every time I want to access my phone

I have exactly the same problem. There must be a software bug. Really interested in replies to fix. Thanks
