I have a D-link ADSL modem and need a compatible extention lead. I looked in maplin and they had a 10 mtr reel (code A91CG) but I could not get through on the online help to check this was what I needed, and if I would also need another socket so as to leave the phone dock at the phone point. :)

Hi there,

the one in Maplin's looks fine, it should do what you need...

If you want to leave the phone at the socket in the kitchen then get a double adapter as well...

Let me know if the pic's not very clear...

Ric thats amazing! Just one thing - the D-link microfilter box sent with BB kit has a socket for phone and one for modem, if I leave phone downstairs so only using the phone socket on the box will this matter ie the socket for modem will be unused. As will the 2nd microfilter vice versa ie with the socket for phone being unused.
I did also find an extension with the rj11 to rj11 which I presume I can plug into the microfilter and take the whole modem up stairs - would that work?
Thanks v much
Mary :)

Hi Mary,

it doesn't matter if you leave some sockets empty...

Yes, the RJ11 cable will work.

Just make sure that there is a Micro Filter in between a "phone" and a socket. It stops the "crackle"
