Hello,

Thanks for ALL the previous help.
Very appreciated.

Have a brand new Mac Desktop for a few weeks now.
Still "setting it up".

Constantly get a message that appears on the Desktop:

"We Detect a Problem With MS Auto Update
To Correct The Issue, Please Install The Latest
Update. To Install, Click The O.K. Button Below"

I did it, each time, but still comes back.

Any idea what this is ?
Really from MS ?

How do I get it to not appear anymore; really annoying.

Thanks,
Bob

Hello,
  • I assume this in running macOS 12.x Monterey, correct?
  • Which version of Microsoft Office?
  • Can we get a screenshot?

Hi Cory,

As always, much thanks for your time and help.
Yes, I am running Monterrey on a brand new Mac Desktop.

Don't remember from which, but I was able to re-install the copy of MS WORD and MS Excel to the new Mac, from
either Carbon Copy Cloner (CCC) or Time Machine.

Amazingly, it transferred, and is running, so I don't have to go out and spend
another $250 or so for the new MS package of.

The Excel and WORD are both very old.
The WORD is vers16.16.27 from 2012. Excel just as old. But they are fine for what I need.

Apparently the error msg. is from both programs asking to be updated via something called AutoUpdate,
I might be wrong, but pretty sure the msg. is from WORD and/or Excel.

Didn't have these msgs on the old MAC, so surprised it is now asking. No idea why.

It is a real pain to have the msg appear, with a chime, every 10
minutes or so.,

Any idea how to stop these msgs and chimes would be most appreciated.

I did try to Update via the option in both programs, but this had no effect whatever.

Thanks again, and best regards,
Bob
