Epson R220 printing small!!!!

ibook G4 Panther OS
When I try to print a pdf document at A4 the preview is like a thumbnail in the bottom left hand corner of the page, and it prints out this way, even though paper selected is A4 and set to print at 100%. Am I missing something obvious? Can print photos no problem using the Epson software, so I am assuming the printer is ok and that I need to change some settings elsewhere, but dont know where......HELP!!!!

Is this a new printer setup? Is the printer connected directly to the iBook?

Thanks for quick response. I have downloaded and installed updates and this appears to have cured the problem. Thanks anyway.
