Difficulties with internet speed (nothing to do with connection)

The internet on my macbook has been running extremely slowly in comparison to when I first bought it. I know its not relevant to internet connection itself because all other lap tops in my house and at university run normally. I've tried restarting it several times and I have cleaned the hard drive several times so I don't think its an issue with memory or anything like that.

Any ideas?

Could be all manner of things.

Check your console log, empty your cache, ensure your DNS are the same as the ones that are quicker.

I've emptied the cache, which made no difference. I found the console log but to be perfectly honest it's all jibberish to me and I have no idea what any of it means.

By DNS, do you just mean are we all running off the server or is it a speed thing I can check?
