Didn't take all photos with iPhone, need to upload

Ok folks,

I imported my iphoto library from my macbook to my iPhone. All 3,000 pictures. My laptop is smashed. I need to import the library onto my new iMac. Since I didn't take the pictures with the phone, when I connect the two with a usb it doesn't give me this option. Please help! I need to recover my memories.

Hi,

If you did regular backups then restore the iPhoto library from there. If not try this remove the smashed Macs HD, then use the USB hard drive converter cable to connect the hard drive and iMac. This should mount the old hard drive as an external storage device, allowing you to copy over any needed data. In your case the iPhoto library.

Never done this so no guarantee.

And as a foot note I would suggest running TM as of now on your new iMac.
