deleted "Messages" app from MB Air OS 10.9.5 - how to download & reinstall?

I accidentally permanently deleted "MESSAGES" app (don't ask -- I've been using Macs since 1996) from MacBook Air OS 10.9.5 - how can I download & reinstall the app? Thank you, Mamaglee

Thank you Cory. Do system installed apps usually come back after a reboot?

No...not something I have even seen happen. In more recent versions of OS X, macOS Sierra specifically, you cannot even delete them.

That's great to know. The dock icon had a question mark in it, and I couldn't find the app until I rebooted.
