when i was trying to downgrade my macbook(early 2008) from lion back to snow leopard i accidently deleted both partitions and the cd i had would install after i already deleted the partitions, i was using refit as the boot loader and had ubuntu on it as well.

now all i have is the mac start up sound and a folder with a question mark and i tried all keys. the install dvd is still in the drive. but i know i really messed it up this time.

just want to get it back to snowleopard.

Hi,

Try this restart the then hold down the track pad or use a mouse and hold down the mouse left click button. It should force eject the disk.
Now shut down and reboot holding down the C key while starting up to boot from the SL DVD you should be able to run the SL Installer. Remember to use Mac OS X Journaled partition.

If not I would suggest take it to a Genius at your local Apple Store.

Edit:
the install dvd is still in the drive.

This is strange so I have to ask if the SL disks(2) are genuine?

This may well have bricked your Mac.

Take the battery out for 10 mins and do a PU Reset for your model.
