I see where that is not a new model of the MacBook Pro, but was manufactured in 2012. I also see where it comes with a slows, 5400 rpm 750 gig hard drive. I suspect the drive needs to be "repaired", primarily from a software perspective. Even with that, though, understand that the machine will still run somewhat "slow", due to the slow internal drive. You might want to consider purchasing and installing an SSD. I did exactly that with my late 2012 Mac Mini, replacing the slow 1 TB 5400 rpm drive with a much faster 256 gig Samsung SSD, and it flies!
