Connect Macbook Pro to Tv through HDMI

Hi guys I was wondering if someone could tell me how to hook up my macbook pro to my tv. I want to hook it up, but I want a good picture so I was wondering is there anyway I could hook up the mbp through hdmi and if so will this give me sound?
Also do you guys recommend any other way of hooking up the mbp to the tv inorder to get a very good picture. And is there anyway I could send the picture in 1080p.
By the way the tv is a Samsung LNT4061.

I have the same problem with my new Panasonic Plasma TV. I connect the HDMI dongle to the HDMI - DVI cable and then directly to the DVI inputs on the back of the TV. My MBP recognizes a Panasonic external monitor source, but it seems the TV does not allow the MBP to connect. Does anyone know if this is a software/hardware incompatibility with Panasonic?
