Hi there,
Long time viewer of the forum but first time in need of help. I have an early 2011 2.7ghz 13" MBP. Its perfect for me. I do a lot of video editing on it as well using final cut and some small bits on iMovie. I started it up today and it took a reasonable time to get to the login screen, once I had logged in, it opened up mail like it usually does and it just hangs there, The top bar sometimes comes up and the dock doesn't come up, the widget dashboard is frozen too. I then shut it down by holding the powerswitch and reset the RAM. Same problem. Somehow after a few more resets I was able to normally use it. However when I turned it off and on again it did the same, it hanged at the desktop and wouldn't open anything, all I could get up is the shutdown box but I was unable to click anything.
I've checked the disks (and they're both fine) and when I did manage to get it running and the only way I'm able to use it now is because of Safe Mode. I'm still confused as to what it is.
Any assistance is appreciated.
