Well this is weird. I've ended up with a miscellaneous tiny piece of (yellow highlighted) text on my Big Sur desktop that WILL NOT GO AWAY. Finder Force Quit doesn't do it. Superimposing some icon on it won't do it. I can't move it. It's stuck. It appears to be a piece of text I was working on in some application.
Now, I could just reboot, but surely there is some way (keystroke? terminal command?) to just clear the whole screen. I've uncovered a lot of key combinations that will allegedly do that, but none of them seem to do anything at all.
Oh, if you put things on it, they always go behind it.
