HI. I have an ibook G4 and I recently got the sims 2 for it. I can't get the CD to eject. When I push the eject button on the keyboard nothing happens and when I drag the cd to the trash (which turns into the eject sign) it says that the cd is still running. I heard that you can download a patch but there is a problem with that. Ever since I installed the game, my internet isn't working either. I am connected by a wire to a rouder.

Please Help
Thanks

Hi Orangeonoin
I sounds like you still have an application linked to hte cd running. If you are sure you have finished with it try rebooting your system then try to eject. I don't have any experience with iBooks but I find that way gets me out of trouble on my desktop Mac

Hi there all,

two ways to try...

Open iTunes and press the eject key in iTunes this normally gets rid of stubborn disks...

If not open terminal and type

Code:
drutil tray eject

then press return.

If these don't work we can eject it via open firmware, but we'll save that one, untill we need it !

Hi there,

Restart and hold down command-option-O-F

This boots you into the firmware...

when you get the prompt type

eject cd

then press return

this should eject the cd !

Then type

mac-boot

and press return

this will bring the Mac back to normal !

Post the link for that patch and we'll have a look if you want...

...will sort the Internet problem in a bit back 8pm GMT.

Unless anyone else is free before that !

Ok thanks. I realized after I had told you I would be on in the morning and I realized you were in the UK. I'm not sure what time 8pm GMT is there. Let me know any info about my internet problem.
Thanks

Have had a quick look.

According to that website...

The Sims 2 1.0 Rev C

This patch is for all languages of Sims 2 (English/French/German/Japanese), and fixes a bug with NVIDIA video cards under 10.4.3.

Probably worth while downloading, but I would do it from The Sims Official Website.

I am hooked up to by a wire to a router. Ever since I installed the sims it doesn't work. I checked the wire and it is fine and the other computer with the same setup is working fine too.

Have you had a look at your settings in System Preferences ?

Has anything changed ? Or are you unsure of what is was to start with ?

I was unsure of what it was to start with. I didn't really use a program or anything I kind of just plugged the wires in here and there to make it work.

I made it work! I just went to my network setting and clicked assist me!
Now I will try to download the patch. Do you have the link to it?
